Membership Recruitment for the Douglas County Planning Commission

Douglas County Commissioners Tim Freeman, Chris Boice and Tom Kress are seeking interested persons to serve as members of the Douglas County Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is a seven member advisory and decision making body of Douglas County. Members represent differing interests, geographic areas and occupations. The term of appointment is four years. The recruitment will give priority to applicants who can represent the southern and central region of Douglas County 

The Planning Commission advises the County on land use program activities serves as the appeal body for contested land use decisions and conducts hearings on discretionary land use actions. The Planning Commission is an important and integral part of land use planning under Oregon laws. 

Citizens residing in Douglas County who are interested in being considered for Douglas County Planning Commission membership are urged to submit an application to either the Douglas County Board of Commissioners Office or the Douglas County Planning Department. Applications are available in-person at the Board of Commissioners Office, located in Room 217 at the Douglas County Courthouse, or in the Planning Department, located in Room 106 in the Justice Building at the Douglas County Courthouse, both of which are located at 1036 SE Douglas Avenue in Roseburg, Oregon.
