Of the 16,326 people living in Coos Bay in 2020, 51.7 percent (8,447) were women and 48.3 percent (7,879) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Coast Times.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 76. In the 65 and over age range, there were 2,035 females and 1,627 males.
