Bay Area Hospital’s Kids’ HOPE Center held its annual Pinwheels for Prevention planting event today. This event marks the start of National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, an important month for the community to recognize the children the center helps. The pinwheels that were planted represent the 252 child victims served during the previous calendar year. This event, while sobering, is also a celebration of the amazing work Kids’ HOPE Center does for children in our communities.
You may still purchase your pinwheel garden to support the Center’s operation as the county’s non-profit child abuse intervention center. Available for purchase are 12 pinwheels with a yard sign for $25 or 25 pinwheels with a yard sign for $50. Place your order for pinwheels with Sarah Bright at Kids’ HOPE Center by calling (541) 269-4196 or submit by mail to: Kids’ HOPE Center, 1925 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
